Solomon's Big Love Farm: A Hub of Hope and Opportunity

Donate

A Transformative partnership

Through an incredible donation, Big Love purchased 23 dairy cows, transforming Solomon’s Big Love Farm into a beacon of hope. Managed by our close friends, Nicu and Aurel, the farm has grown from a few animals in 2017 into a thriving hub of milk, cheese, and summer produce like watermelons, tomatoes, and cucumbers.

The farm is prospering with a growing herd dedicated to supporting our mission. Currently, we have 28 milking cows and 20 female calves, with an additional 5 calves expected before Christmas. Looking ahead, we’re preparing to welcome 20 more calves in the first half of next year, thanks to 30 pregnant cows in our care. Additionally, 5 more milking cows are set to join us by the end of 2024, bringing our milking herd to 33. This expansion allows us to provide even more resources to our children’s centres, empowering lives through sustainable farming.

Today, over 100+ children receive fresh milk daily which supports their health and growth, whilst creating local jobs. Currently 8 people are employed on the farm, and with a vision to grow the herd to 100 cows we’re building sustainable, long-term support for children, families, and the community. Longer term, we hope the farm will help fund some of our UK work as well.

Community Impact

We’ve purchased silage for feeding and built a milking parlour, allowing us to milk 12 cows in just 12 minutes, greatly boosting production. We have also been given an extra acre of land!

This summer alone, the farm has thrived, producing 600 litres of milk and 92 kilograms of cheese daily, along with 100 tonnes of watermelons, 13 tonnes of cucumbers, and 6 tonnes of eggplant. Together, we’re creating sustainable impact, nourishing communities, and providing meaningful employment.

Our cows are regularly checked by a specialist veterinary doctor to ensure their health. Donations have also allowed us to hire eight full-time workers, providing stable jobs for local families, and purchase a butter machine, expanding our dairy production for a more sustainable income.

How You Can Get Involved

£25 a week – Give a teenager the chance to work on the land, gaining valuable skills and earning a wage.

£50 a week – Support a local adult worker on the farm, creating sustainable livelihoods.

£100 a month – Help grow fresh produce in the poly-tunnels, providing vital food for the community.

£1,600 – Your faith group, business, or school can purchase a cow, investing in the farm’s future and helping to feed over 100+ children daily.

From a simple idea to a herd of hope

When Big Love began, cows weren’t part of the vision—but life has a way of surprising us! What started as a creative idea to provide sustainable funding for our children’s centres has become a cornerstone of our work. Check out how it all began.
