This is Trinity Church's story

Trinity Church Nottingham came to Romania with one simple aim: to serve. A small group from their youth team spent their time in our children's centres, leading activities, playing football, building relationships, and getting stuck into daily life alongside the local community.

I'd been to Romania with Big Love twice before taking a team of students with me. Having seen the work of Big Love and Outstretched Hands first-hand, I knew it was something I wanted others to experience too. We took a brilliant group of students and tried something a little different.

There's no set way to do a Big Love trip. Each one is shaped around what a group brings, sport, creativity, practical skills, working with children, or simply being willing to get involved. Trinity Church didn't need a big group or a particular skill set, just people ready to give their time and energy, and they were an encouragement to the children, our team, and our partners on the ground.

Sometimes it starts as simply saying, "We'd love to come and help."

What this involves

Trips run for 4–5 days, based in Romania, spending time in our children's centres in Doi Moldoveni and Oltenita, helping with football sessions, homework and reading support, and a visit to the farm.

Beyond the core activities, there's room to bring what you're good at, a trade, a creative skill, whatever you'd naturally offer at home. We'll shape the days around what you bring.

The cost is £600 per person, covering flights, accommodation, food, and local transport, everything you need is included.

‍

If you're new to Big Love, we'll ask for a reference and have a friendly catch-up beforehand, a chance to talk through the trip and answer any questions before you commit. Ahead of the trip, you'll also join a prep meeting with the others going, and get an info pack so you know exactly what to expect.
